wish I had seen this video before trying to make a flan from another online recipe!!! I ended up with a giant french toast. No custard, a french toast cake. 🙁 I followed those instructions to the letter
Love your humour and steps to make things so simple. I've always been a little terrified of caramelizing sugar on it's own, but with the way you taught it, I'm quite confident I won't burn it 😀

FOOD PORN!!! im pregnant and want sweets no i want this!!!
If you are watching this anywhere else but north America, omit the vanilla. They use so much of it that I think they have gone immune to the flavor but for the rest of us it just makes a great creme caramel taste like weird ice-cream.
…and if you are Canadian or American….stop destroying everything sweet with a vanilla free pour!
One of my favorite desserts of all time. called leche flan in these parts because of the Spanish influence in our culture. you can also put a little grated orange zest in in the caramel for that fragrant, lightly bittersweet effect.

Flan is so good if you have a sweet tooth. Two variations that i particularly like are expresso and cream cheese, so flavorful and creamy…
Does anyone know if I can make this by putting a separate pot or water container at the bottom of the oven (inside the oven) while leaving the little cups on their own at the top?
