Lunch at Casa de Axe – Brazil 2014

Those who know me that even with all of my dietary restrictions I still love food. Even when I’m 100% raw, I still love food. I was on the move way too much to fruit fast like I planned so I fruited it up in the mornings, but today was a special gift. My itinerary included a visit to Casa do Axe AMALYRA, a candomble (Afro-Brazilian religion) site. Not only did the cooks make sure I had a host of options for food to eat, they even labeled the dishes in Portuguese and English. Then there was dancing, singing and a tour of the sacred space. And this was after participating in an International Black Literature conference in Sao Joao de Meriti.
