Looking for a simple fish dinner? Try this easy recipe for baked fish fillets. You can use any firm white fish; cod, haddock, or grouper work well.

Yield: 4 servings (serving size: 5 ounces fish)

Preparation

Preheat oven to 425°.

Place fish in an 11 x 7-inch baking dish coated with cooking spray. Combine lime juice, mayonnaise, onion powder, and pepper in a small bowl, and spread over fish. Sprinkle with breadcrumbs; drizzle with butter. Bake at 425° for 20 minutes or until fish flakes easily when tested with a fork. Sprinkle with parsley.

Notes: Haddock or cod would make good substitutes for the grouper. Adjust the baking time depending on the thickness of the fish.

  4. This is a VERY GOOD recipe! Even my pickiest teenager loved it! I will add different  spices next time to the mayo mixture just to make different but as is, I had to stop myself from eating it.  I used sole (which was very thin compared to your fish) so I cut the baking time in half! The crust was the best part : all the taste but a fraction of the calories since its only one side and its not fried in oil! A great recipe to keep and do over and over again! Thanks sooooo much.

  9. I dont have bread crumbs, i only have the regular soft bread. What can i use for the topping? Crackers or something else?

  10. why one earth would you bother to post a recipe and directions, without the damn temperature on the oven? Ok, I'll bake the fish at 425 degrees for 20 minutes, and I'll keep mashing it to a pulp to see when it flakes.

Just tried this recipe.  I don't even cook but it turned out fantastic.  Super quick and easy to make.  Great fish recipe.  Tried it with cod and it turned out great.  Going to try it with tilapia and it will probably be just as good.  And everything we eat is gunna give you cancer anyways so party on 🙂  If it's not mayo it will be something else.  I've known health nuts that have died from cancer and an 85 year neighbor who smokes like chimney and is still alive and kickin so it's a crap shoot no matter how you look at it.  EAT UP!!!
